Viewport and screen dimensions are reported in CSS pixels. Estimated device pixels multiply those CSS values by devicePixelRatio; this is a browser estimate, not a measurement of physical panel pixels. Browser zoom, operating-system display scaling, window chrome, multi-monitor setup, and browser privacy settings can change these reported values. Screen dimensions are not a calibrated physical size.

Manual conversion uses the CSS convention 96 px = 1 in (2.54 cm or 25.4 mm), not a calibrated screen measurement.

A QUICK WALKTHROUGH

How to use this tool

  1. Read the current browser viewport and reported screen values.
  2. Compare CSS pixels with the estimated device-pixel dimensions.
  3. Resize the window or change zoom to see the reported values update.

CSS pixels and device pixels

Viewport and screen dimensions are reported in CSS pixels. Estimated device pixels multiply those CSS values by devicePixelRatio; this is a browser estimate, not a measurement of physical panel pixels.

Browser and display scaling

Browser zoom, operating-system display scaling, window chrome, multi-monitor setup, and browser privacy settings can change these reported values. Screen dimensions are not a calibrated physical size.

Local-only inspection

The tool reads browser-provided window and screen properties only. It does not read page content, user-agent details, canvas or other fingerprinting signals, and it does not upload or persist the results.

GOOD TO KNOW

Common questions

Are these physical screen dimensions?

No. They are browser-reported CSS pixels, with a device-pixel estimate based on devicePixelRatio. They do not reveal calibrated millimeters or guarantee the panel’s physical pixel count.

Why do viewport and screen values differ?

The viewport is the visible page area inside the browser window. Screen values describe the display area reported by the operating system; available space may exclude system UI such as a taskbar or dock.

Does this identify my device?

It does not collect or store identifying data. The page only displays the small set of display properties you can already inspect in this browser.
