A QUICK WALKTHROUGH
How to use this tool
- Paste the earlier and later snippets.
- Compare their normalized token streams.
- Review added and removed tokens, or confirm that the normalized streams match.
Token comparison, not semantic proof
This tool compares lexical tokens with a longest-common-subsequence diff. It does not parse an AST, execute code, resolve names, or prove equivalent behavior.
Supported comment rules
The scanner recognizes // and /* */ comments outside single, double, and backtick strings. It is intended for C-like syntax; regex literals, template interpolation, and language-specific comment forms can be ambiguous.
Local bounded processing
Each snippet is limited to 60,000 characters and 4,000 tokens, with at most 2,000,000 token pairs. Text stays in this browser.
GOOD TO KNOW
Common questions
Does it understand code semantics?
No. “Token diff” is the precise scope. Reordered statements, renamed variables, macros, and equivalent expressions can still appear different.
