Extended grapheme clusters
The tool shuffles Unicode extended grapheme clusters, which generally correspond to user-perceived characters. Combining marks stay attached to their base, and emoji sequences such as family emoji stay together when Intl.Segmenter is available. A code-point fallback is used only in older browsers.
Duplicates and local processing
Every cluster is kept exactly once for each occurrence, including repeated letters, spaces, punctuation, and line breaks. The Fisher–Yates shuffle uses browser pseudo-randomness; no text is uploaded or stored by this tool.
GOOD TO KNOW
Common questions
Are emoji and combining marks kept together?
Yes, when the browser supports Intl.Segmenter, the tool shuffles extended grapheme clusters so user-perceived characters stay together.
Are duplicate letters removed?
No. Each occurrence is preserved, including duplicate letters and whitespace.
Is the shuffle cryptographically secure?
No. It uses browser pseudo-randomness for a convenient local shuffle.
