A QUICK WALKTHROUGH

How to use this tool

  1. Enter production in litres per head per day.
  2. Enter a whole head count, duration in months, and usable capacity in litres.
  3. Review estimated volume and arithmetic spare or shortfall.

Formula and month length

The estimate multiplies daily production per head by head count and months, using 30.44 days per month (365.25 ÷ 12), then converts litres to cubic metres.

Capacity is user supplied

Enter usable capacity below freeboard, not brim volume. The tool does not add rainfall, runoff, washings unless included in daily production, or other inflows.

Not a regulatory storage calculation

Storage requirements depend on jurisdiction and site conditions. This arithmetic does not determine legal capacity, freeboard, rainfall, or environmental compliance. Confirm requirements with the relevant authority and a qualified professional.

GOOD TO KNOW

Common questions

Does it include rainfall?

No. Add relevant inflows to the production input or assess them separately.

Should capacity mean the tank brim volume?

Use usable capacity after freeboard and other unavailable volume.

Is this a compliance check?

No. Regulations and site conditions are not evaluated.
