A QUICK WALKTHROUGH

How to use this tool

  1. Select Start to begin timing.
  2. Select Lap to record each split and its total elapsed time.
  3. Pause to hold the reading; reset while paused to clear the run and laps.

Accurate elapsed time

The stopwatch calculates elapsed time from high-resolution browser timestamps rather than counting display updates. It continues to account for time when a background tab is throttled.

Lap and split times

Each lap shows its duration and cumulative time. After three laps, the fastest and slowest lap are highlighted.

Runs in your browser

Timing data stays in this browser tab. It is not uploaded or saved, and closing the tab ends the run.

GOOD TO KNOW

Common questions

Does switching tabs affect the time?

No. While running, elapsed time is recalculated from timestamps when you return, even if the browser slowed down display updates.

What is the difference between lap and total time?

Lap time is the duration since the previous lap. Total time is the duration since Start; each lap also shows its cumulative total.

When can I reset?

Pause the stopwatch first. Reset clears the elapsed time and all recorded laps.
