Takt Time Calculator
Calculate demand-based takt time from available production minutes and units demanded.
A QUICK WALKTHROUGH
How to use this tool
- Enter the values in the stated units.
- Choose decimal places and calculate.
Formula and units
Takt = T ÷ demand; T: min; takt: min/unit; seconds = takt × 60
Scope and limitations
Time and demand must cover the same period. Enter available time after planned breaks; unplanned losses are not automatically deducted. Takt describes demand pace, not measured cycle time, line balance or guaranteed production capacity.
Precision and input limits
Enter every value as a finite number greater than 0 and no greater than 1,000,000,000. Demand must be a whole number. Display 0–6 decimal places. JavaScript floating-point arithmetic is used; display rounding does not increase accuracy.
