How to use this tool

Choose the right level of detail
Word mode is a readable default for prose and preserves spaces around edits. Character mode exposes small spelling or punctuation changes. Line mode groups multi-line additions and removals so you can scan notes, copy, or snippets one line at a time.
See the change in context
The comparison presents both passages together, marks additions and removals, and reports how many units changed or stayed the same. Swap the two inputs to reverse the perspective, or clear them to start a new comparison.
Useful for everyday revisions
Use it for copy edits, instructions, messages, or configuration snippets. The comparison runs in the page so your pasted text stays in the current browser session.

Common questions
Which comparison mode should I use?
Use words for most writing, characters for tiny edits such as punctuation or spelling, and lines when each line is a meaningful unit.
Can I compare multi-line text?
Yes. Paste paragraphs or multiple lines into the two input areas, then choose Lines to group the result by complete lines.
What do the summary counts mean?
They count added, removed, and unchanged words, characters, or lines for the selected mode. Spacing stays visible in word mode but is not counted as a word.
Does it change either input?
No. The two inputs remain available while the comparison is shown. Swap only exchanges their positions.
