The official 26-word table
This tool uses the ICAO International Radiotelephony Spelling Alphabet, also known as the NATO phonetic alphabet: Alfa, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, Echo, Foxtrot, Golf, Hotel, India, Juliett, Kilo, Lima, Mike, November, Oscar, Papa, Quebec, Romeo, Sierra, Tango, Uniform, Victor, Whiskey, X-ray, Yankee, Zulu. Alfa and Juliett are the official spellings.
Digits, punctuation, and decoding boundaries
A–Z letters are converted case-insensitively. Digits are emitted as the spoken English digit words ZERO through NINER. Common punctuation and regular spaces use tool-defined tokens such as PERIOD, HYPHEN, and SPACE so repeated spaces can round-trip. Other whitespace and unsupported characters are reported instead of guessed. Decoder input is whitespace-separated code words and preserves source line breaks only when the encoded input contains line breaks.

Does this use Alpha or Alfa?
It uses the ICAO spelling ALFA, the standardized form used by NATO and international radiotelephony.
Are lowercase letters accepted?
Yes. Encoding is case-insensitive, and decoded letters are returned as uppercase A–Z.
What happens to emoji or unsupported punctuation?
The tool stops with the first unsupported character and explains where it occurs. This avoids silently producing a misleading code word.
