Timelapse Calculator
Plan a timelapse locally by turning your capture interval and shooting duration into frames and final playback time.
A QUICK WALKTHROUGH
How to use this tool
- Enter the interval between captures and the total shooting duration.
- Enter the output frame rate for the finished video.
- Read the expected frame count and finished duration.
Formula
Frame count is floor(shooting seconds ÷ interval seconds) + 1, counting a frame at the start of the shoot and every interval that fits within it. Finished video seconds equal frame count ÷ output frames per second.
Inputs and limits
Enter a positive interval and frame rate, and a shooting duration as HH:MM:SS. The duration must be at least one second; values are calculated locally and are not uploaded.
GOOD TO KNOW
Common questions
Is the first frame included?
Yes. The calculator counts the frame captured at time zero, then each interval that fits before the shooting duration ends.
Does it account for camera delays?
No. It is a planning estimate based on the entered interval and assumes each capture occurs on schedule.
