A QUICK WALKTHROUGH

How to use this tool

  1. Choose a 30, 60, or 120 second test and select Start; the clock starts immediately.
  2. Type the prompt; an exact match displays another sentence.
  3. Review remaining time, accuracy and WPM for the latest input; statistics are not cumulative across the session.

Latest-input measurement

Statistics are recalculated on each input. Correct count compares Unicode code points by position; the denominator is the latest input length in UTF-16 code units. Accuracy is correct count divided by that length, as a percentage. WPM uses correct count only.

Local timer

The timer starts on Start and stops at the selected duration. Matching a prompt displays another sentence rather than ending the test. Input, timer and results are not uploaded or persisted.

GOOD TO KNOW

Common questions

How is WPM calculated?

WPM = matching count in the latest input ÷ 5 ÷ elapsed minutes since Start. If elapsed time is zero, WPM is 0.

Does an incorrect character count?

It counts in the input-length denominator but not in correct count or WPM. Statistics do not accumulate completed prompts.
