Veterinary Monthly Practice Capacity Calculator

Estimate complete appointment slots and continuous theoretical capacity from your own staffing, rooms, minutes and working days.

In-browser processingNo account requiredPrivacy details ↗

Complete capacity = min(rooms, veterinarians) × floor(daily minutes ÷ (consultation minutes + buffer minutes)) × days. Continuous capacity uses the same formula without floor.

All parameters are yours. The model assumes one room and one veterinarian per simultaneous appointment and a full buffer for every appointment, including the last one. It ignores variable durations, breaks not removed from available minutes, absence and other bottlenecks. No clinical staffing or utilization rate is recommended.

GOOD TO KNOW

Common questions

Why is complete capacity lower than theoretical capacity?

Incomplete daily slots are discarded before multiplying by resources and days. A remainder cannot form an appointment in this model.

Does this establish a safe staffing level?

No. It is scheduling arithmetic. Clinical requirements, workload and real resource availability need separate assessment.
