A QUICK WALKTHROUGH
How to use this tool
- Enter the opening and expected closing values.
- Enter one label, change per line, in the order you want to explain.
- Draw the chart; correct a mismatch before downloading SVG.
Reconciliation and numeric scope
Values are plain decimal numbers with at most four decimal places and absolute value ≤1,000,000,000. Up to 20 changes are supported; every running total must also stay in range. Scaled integer arithmetic checks opening + sum(changes) = closing exactly at that decimal precision. A mismatch blocks the chart and export.
Local explanation, not an audit
All inputs remain in this browser. The chart and table explain the supplied numbers; equality does not verify accuracy, completeness, accounting compliance or financial audit status. Eight to ten steps are usually easiest to read.
GOOD TO KNOW
Common questions
How are negative and zero changes shown?
Negative bars float down from the previous total; positive bars float up. Zero changes have a horizontal marker. Signs and the table supplement color.
Can a label contain commas?
Yes. The last comma separates the label from the plain numeric change. Thousands separators and scientific notation are not supported. Labels may contain at most 60 characters.
