Static WebP only, up to 10 MiB, 5,000 px per side and 25 MP. Creates one 16–256 px PNG-backed ICO entry. Fits the image without stretching, with transparent padding. Animation and source metadata are not retained. Requires browser WebP decoding.

How to use this tool

  1. Choose a static WebP up to 10 MiB, 5,000 px per side and 25 MP.
  2. Choose an icon size from 16 to 256 px.
  3. Convert and download the ICO file.

Limits and browser support

Only static WebP is accepted. Animated files are rejected instead of silently keeping the first frame. Source metadata is removed. WebP and ImageBitmap decoding support is required; unsupported or corrupt images produce an error. Files stay in your browser.

Common questions

Is this a real ICO file?

Yes. It contains one PNG-backed ICO entry. Older software that only accepts BMP-backed icons may not support it.

Can I convert animation?

No. Export a still frame from the animation before using this tool.
