A newly encoded PDF, not a renamed image
The converter uses the browser to decode the WebP, creates a JPEG image stream, and writes that stream into a single-page PDF structure. The downloaded file has PDF content and opens as a PDF; it is not the original WebP with a different filename.
Page size and transparency
The PDF page follows the decoded image dimensions at 72 points per 96 source pixels, preserving the image aspect ratio. PDF JPEG image streams do not carry transparency, so transparent WebP pixels are composited onto white. Source metadata, color profiles, animation, and original compression are not copied.
Local file and memory boundaries
Choose one WebP no larger than 20 MB, with a maximum side of 10,000 pixels and 20 megapixels total. Decoding and canvas work can use roughly 160 MB for the largest accepted image, and PDF output is limited to 45 MB. Everything stays in your browser.

Is the download a real PDF?
Yes. The converter writes a PDF file with a standard PDF header, page objects, and an embedded JPEG image stream. It does not rename the WebP file.
Does this upload my image?
No. The WebP is decoded and the PDF is assembled in your browser.
What happens to transparent areas?
They become white because the PDF embeds a JPEG image, which has no alpha channel.
Will the PDF retain WebP metadata or animation?
No. It uses the decoded still-image pixels only. Metadata, profiles, animation, and original WebP bytes are not copied.
