A QUICK WALKTHROUGH
How to use this tool
- Paste English text of up to 50,000 characters.
- Review each possible a/an mismatch and its location.
- Edit the source yourself; this checker does not rewrite or certify grammar.
Supported check
The local script checks the next token after “a” or “an”. It flags “a” before a word beginning with a, e, i, o, or u, and “an” before a word beginning with another letter.
English-only heuristic and limits
This is an English-only spelling-pattern hint, not a full grammar model. Pronunciation exceptions, acronyms, silent letters, proper names, numbers, and context can change the correct article. It does not check “the”, sentence structure, agreement, style, or meaning, and it never rewrites your text.
GOOD TO KNOW
Common questions
Does it check “the” or full grammar?
No. It only reports the documented a/an spelling heuristic; it is not a full grammar checker.
Why can a hint be wrong?
The rule reads the next written letter. Pronunciation exceptions and acronyms can require a different article, so review every result.
Which languages are analyzed?
The interface has six locales, but the analysis is English-only and only covers the a/an pattern.
