UTF-8 conversion

Bytes are decoded and text is encoded with the browser TextEncoder/TextDecoder APIs. Invalid UTF-8 byte sequences are rejected.

Validation and privacy

Every byte must be an integer from 0 to 255 (00–FF in hex). Input stays in this browser and is not sent.

Which byte formats are supported?

Decimal 0–255 or hexadecimal 00–FF, with an optional 0x prefix.

Does it support Unicode?

Yes. UTF-8 multi-byte characters, including emoji, are handled.

What happens for an invalid byte?

The conversion is rejected with an error message; individual invalid values are not located.
