A QUICK WALKTHROUGH
How to use this tool
- Enter the number of people and choose Starter or Main.
- Optionally enter the number of cheese varieties.
- Review the rough cheese and meat totals and the per-variety cheese amount.
A simple serving estimate
Starter planning uses about 60 g of cheese and 40 g of meat per person. Main planning uses about twice those amounts. The calculator keeps these source rates explicit and does not add an undocumented large-party adjustment.
Variety changes the split
Cheese variety count divides the total cheese amount into an even average per variety. It does not increase the total amount; it only describes a finer split.
Plan around real dietary needs
This is a rough party planning estimate, not nutrition, food safety, allergy, or dietary advice. Prepare allergy and dietary alternatives separately and check ingredient labels and storage guidance.
GOOD TO KNOW
Common questions
Does Main mean a full meal?
No. It applies the rough double serving estimate for a board intended to be more substantial. Plan the rest of the meal separately.
Does adding varieties increase the total cheese?
No. It divides the same cheese total across the selected variety count.
Is this safe for allergy planning?
No. Check labels and local food safety guidance, and prepare suitable alternatives separately for each dietary need.
