Column Splitter
Split a single CSV column in your browser, limit cuts, preserve the remainder, and review irregular rows.
One selected CSV column is split locally. Up to 10 MB, 100,000 rows, and 500 cells per row.
A QUICK WALKTHROUGH
How to use this tool
- Choose a CSV or paste text, then select the source column.
- Choose delimiter, regex, fixed widths, or character positions and set the cut options.
- Split, inspect irregular row widths, then copy or download the CSV.
Four ways to split
Split a selected one-column CSV field with a literal delimiter, a regular expression, fixed widths, or character positions. Limit cuts and split from the end when needed.
CSV aware and local
Quoted commas, line breaks, and doubled quotes are parsed before the selected field is changed. Input stays in your browser and is limited to 10 MB, 100,000 rows, and 500 cells per row.
Irregular data is visible
Rows may produce different numbers of parts; the status reports that irregularity so you can inspect the result before copying or downloading.
GOOD TO KNOW
Common questions
Can I split from the end?
Yes. Enable Split from the end; the cut limit still preserves the remainder.
What happens to empty pieces?
Choose Keep or Drop, and optionally trim each piece.
Are regular expression errors handled?
Invalid expressions are reported without changing the result.
Is my CSV uploaded?
No. Reading, parsing, splitting, previewing, copying, and downloading happen locally.
