A QUICK WALKTHROUGH
How to use this tool
- Enter the page title or URL and its last substantial update date.
- Choose how quickly the topic changes and whether traffic is declining, flat, or growing.
- Review the weighted formula, score, and explanation to help order editorial work.
A visible editorial heuristic
Priority equals age in months × volatility weight × traffic factor. Fast-moving topics use 3, Moderate 2, and Evergreen 1. Declining traffic uses 1.5, Flat 1, and Growing 0.75.
Use the score for ordering work
A higher score suggests content may deserve earlier editorial attention because it is older, changes quickly, or has declining traffic. Compare scores within your own queue rather than treating them as a universal threshold.
Not a ranking or SEO signal
This is a planning aid based only on the values you provide. It does not represent Google ranking factors, forecast search performance, or recommend SEO changes.
GOOD TO KNOW
Common questions
What counts as a substantial update?
Use the date when the page’s useful content, claims, examples, or data last changed materially. A cosmetic edit is not the intended input.
Why does declining traffic increase priority?
The chosen factor makes declining traffic raise the queue score so you can inspect older or weakening content sooner. It is a planning choice, not a causal claim.
Does this send my page data anywhere?
