Number to English Words
The interface supports six languages; number wording is always English. Convert negative numbers, grouped integers, and decimals without uploading them.
A QUICK WALKTHROUGH
How to use this tool
- Enter a number using digits, optional three-digit comma groups, and a dot for decimals.
- Choose cardinal, ordinal, or currency; choose USD, EUR, or GBP for currency. Also convert to Roman numerals, binary, hexadecimal or scientific notation.
- Convert, review the English result, and copy it.
English output in every interface language
The output uses American English short-scale names through trillion, compound-tens hyphens, and no “and” inside hundreds. Cardinal decimals are read digit by digit, preserving trailing zeros.
Input limits
The integer part may contain at most 15 digits (0–999,999,999,999,999), including negatives. Cardinals accept 1–10 decimal digits. Ordinals accept integers without a decimal point. Currency accepts at most 2 decimal digits with no rounding, and spells both major and minor units. Exponents, symbols, malformed grouping, and larger values are rejected.
Numeric output formats
Every mode accepts at most 15 integer digits; decimals use 1–10 digits. Roman numerals require positive integers 1–3999. Binary and hexadecimal require integers and use a minus sign for negatives, not machine two’s complement. Scientific notation preserves the exact decimal value without rounding; trailing zeros are normalized and zero becomes 0e+0. Exponent input is not accepted.
GOOD TO KNOW
Common questions
Does it translate numbers into six languages?
No. The interface is localized, but number words are English. Other modes return numeric notation.
Is conversion private?
Yes. This original implementation processes input locally in the browser; no input is uploaded.
Are numeric formats exact?
Yes within the input limits. Binary and hexadecimal use BigInt. Scientific notation moves the decimal point using strings and does not convert the input to floating point.
