Decimal units
This tool uses SI decimal prefixes: kbps, Mbps, and Gbps are 1,000, 1,000,000, and 1,000,000,000 bits per second; KB/s, MB/s, and GB/s use the same powers for bytes. IEC KiB, MiB, and GiB are not mixed in.
Ideal transfer time
The estimate is file size in bits divided by rate in bits per second. It excludes protocol overhead, latency, throttling, and other real-world effects.

Common questions
Are these decimal or binary units?
All supported prefixes are decimal powers of 1000; IEC units are not used.
Is the time estimate realistic?
It is an ideal lower-bound estimate and excludes network overhead and speed variation.
