A QUICK WALKTHROUGH
How to use this tool
- Paste up to 1 MiB of plain text.
- Choose Delete every other line to remove the even-numbered lines.
- Review and copy the result.
Even-numbered lines are deleted
The first line is kept, the second is deleted, and the pattern continues. The rule always counts from the start of the input.
Line endings and blank lines
LF, CRLF, and CR are recognized and the first detected newline style is used in the output. Blank lines are still lines and follow the same alternating pattern; line text is not trimmed.
Local plain-text processing
Input is limited to 1 MiB. Text stays in your browser and is never uploaded.
GOOD TO KNOW
Common questions
Which lines are removed?
Lines 2, 4, 6, and every other even-numbered line are removed. Lines 1, 3, 5, and so on remain.
Are blank lines counted?
Yes. A blank line occupies its normal line number and can be kept or removed by the alternating pattern.
Are spaces or line endings changed?
No line text is trimmed. LF, CRLF, and CR are accepted; output uses the first newline style found.
