EV Charging Cost Calculator
Enter usable battery capacity, the percentage points added per charge, weekly charges, full-charge range and electricity rate. Select EV or e-bike. For an e-bike, enter Wh, kWh or voltage × amp-hours, start/end charge, your grid-energy model, rate, period/year session counts and session distance.

Annual energy:
Annual cost:
Cost per distance unit:
Energy = selected full-charge energy × charge increase ÷ 100. Session cost = energy × rate. Annual totals = session totals × charges per week × 52. Cost per distance = selected full-charge energy × rate ÷ full-charge range. Calculations use unrounded values; small nonzero results use scientific notation.

A QUICK WALKTHROUGH
How to use this tool
- Enter usable battery capacity, the percentage points added per charge, weekly charges, full-charge range and electricity rate.
- Charging losses are excluded by default. To include them, optionally enter the measured grid energy needed for a full charge; it replaces battery capacity for energy and cost estimates. Partial charges are assumed proportional. Parking, connection fees, taxes outside your entered rate and changing tariffs are excluded.
- Select EV or e-bike. For an e-bike, enter Wh, kWh or voltage × amp-hours, start/end charge, your grid-energy model, rate, period/year session counts and session distance.
- Calculate charging cost
E-bike estimate
Battery kWh = Wh/1000 or V × Ah/1000. Battery added = capacity × (end − start)/100. Full grid kWh = capacity/(efficiency/100), or measured full grid kWh. Session grid energy = full grid × charge fraction; cost = grid × rate. Period/year totals use your entered session counts. Per-distance cost = session cost/session distance. Partial charges are proportional; rates and conditions are constant.
Capacity representation
Positive capacity with no 0.1 kWh minimum. Start/end: 0–100, end ≥ start. Efficiency: >0–100, or positive measured grid energy, exclusively. Session counts ≥0, distance >0, rate ≥0. Decimal counts are allowed. Reject unrepresentable numbers or arithmetic; zero change, counts and rate remain valid. No default period or year length.

Effective full-charge energy (kWh, optional)
Charging losses are excluded by default. To include them, optionally enter the measured grid energy needed for a full charge; it replaces battery capacity for energy and cost estimates. Partial charges are assumed proportional. Parking, connection fees, taxes outside your entered rate and changing tariffs are excluded.
Usable battery capacity (kWh)
Capacity and optional effective energy: 0.1–1,000 kWh; increase: 0–100; weekly charges: 0–100; range: 1–10,000; rate: 0–10,000. Decimals are allowed. Annual estimates use 52 identical weeks.

GOOD TO KNOW
Common questions
Does this predict my electricity bill?
No. This estimates charging costs at a constant rate you supply, with fixed usage and range. Real bills and driving conditions vary.
Can I use an e-bike label in volts and amp-hours?
Yes. V × Ah gives nominal Wh. It does not measure usable energy; choose your capacity and efficiency or measured grid energy. This estimates cost, not range, battery health or a bill.
