gRPC Proto to JSON Sample
Paste proto source, choose a message, and create placeholder JSON for scalar, enum, nested, repeated, and map fields without contacting a gRPC service.
A QUICK WALKTHROUGH
How to use this tool
- Paste up to 100,000 characters of .proto source.
- Choose a discovered top-level or nested message.
- Generate, review, and copy the sample JSON.
Supported source subset
Parses message and enum blocks, scalar and named fields, repeated and optional labels, oneof fields, and map fields. Imports, options, extensions, services, validation rules, custom JSON mapping, and wire behavior are not evaluated.
Deterministic placeholders
Strings, numbers, booleans, bytes, enums, maps, and nested messages receive stable example values. 64-bit integer types use strings.
Bounded local parsing
Source is limited to 100,000 characters, 200 definitions, 500 fields, nesting depth 12, and generated depth 8. Parsing and copying stay in this browser.
GOOD TO KNOW
Common questions
Does this compile the proto?
No. It parses a documented subset and is not a protoc replacement.
Does it call a gRPC server?
No. It only reads the pasted text locally.
How are oneof fields handled?
Only the first declared field in each oneof is included.
