Set print density while keeping the original compressed pixels and stored dimensions.

One file, ≤10 MiB and ≤20 MP; integer 1–2400 DPI, equal horizontal/vertical density. JPEG: only 8-bit baseline, one complete scan and an existing standard JFIF header. EXIF, XMP, ICC, Photoshop, other APP metadata and progressive JPEG are rejected, including JFIF/EXIF conflicts. PNG: replace pHYs; reject EXIF, text metadata and animation. Maximum 1 MiB metadata and 4096 records. Malformed or unsupported containers are rejected. Compressed pixel content is not decoded or validated. PNG density is rounded to pixels/metre; print software may ignore density. No format conversion or resizing.

Common questions

Does higher DPI add detail?

3000 × 2000 pixels at 300 DPI prints at 10 × 6.67 inches. Changing DPI alone adds no pixels.
