Whole numbers with a clear range
The converter accepts integers from -999,999,999,999 through 999,999,999,999, with optional commas in the usual three-digit groups. Zero is written as zero. Decimals, exponents, currency symbols, and values outside the range are rejected so the wording stays unambiguous.
American English wording
Results use one through nineteen, tens such as twenty-four, and short-scale groups thousand, million, and billion. The output omits “and” between hundreds and the remaining value, which is a common American English style; spelling is lowercase and hyphenates compound tens.
