A QUICK WALKTHROUGH
How to use this tool
- Paste one item per line, up to 100,000 characters.
- Choose trimming, blank-line removal, duplicate matching, and final sort options.
- Clean the list, review the summary, then copy the result.
Explicit cleanup order
Line endings are normalized first. The tool then optionally trims each line, removes blank lines, removes duplicates while keeping the first occurrence, and finally sorts the retained lines. Keep original order to preserve input order.
Clear empty and duplicate rules
Blank lines are lines empty after optional trimming; turn blank removal off to retain them. Duplicate matching is case-insensitive by default, with an option for case-sensitive matching. Original retained line text is preserved after comparison.
GOOD TO KNOW
Common questions
Which duplicate is kept?
The first occurrence in input order is kept; later matching lines are removed.
Are blank lines retained?
Only when Remove blank lines is off. Whitespace-only lines count as blank after trimming.
Does sorting happen before deduplication?
No. Cleanup and deduplication happen first; the selected sort is applied last.
