A QUICK WALKTHROUGH
How to use this tool
- Enter one item per line in lists A and B.
- Choose case handling and set or multiset difference.
- Calculate, copy, or download the remaining items.
Set and multiset modes
Set difference removes every A item whose comparison key occurs in B. Multiset difference consumes one matching B occurrence for each A occurrence, preserving repeated values that remain.
Line-based local comparison
Each trimmed non-empty line is an item. Case-sensitive matching is the default; optional case-insensitive matching uses Unicode lowercase conversion. Inputs stay in your browser and are limited to 50,000 characters each.
GOOD TO KNOW
Common questions
What is the difference between set and multiset mode?
Set mode removes all matching occurrences. Multiset mode subtracts counts, so repeated values can remain.
Are blank lines included?
No. Surrounding whitespace is trimmed and blank lines are ignored.
Is comparison case-sensitive?
Yes by default; enable ignore case for Unicode lowercase comparison.
