Moving Time Calculator
Estimate an arithmetic upper bound for entered moving phases and review the load–travel–unload moving-day subtotal. This is a nominal civil-clock plan from your durations, not a prediction. No timezone, DST, travel conditions or crew availability are inferred. Clock display is rounded to milliseconds; numeric offsets retain JavaScript precision.
A QUICK WALKTHROUGH
How to use this tool
- Enter hours for all six phases, using an explicit 0 for any phase that does not apply.
- Enter a finite nonnegative buffer percentage.
- Calculate the phase breakdown, buffered total hours and unbuffered moving-day hours.
- Lower groups finish before higher groups start. Phases within a group run in parallel unless dependencies delay them. Every phase starts after its dependencies and all lower groups; end = start + duration × (1 + planning buffer / 100) + extra minutes / 60. IDs stay stable after deletion; deleted dependencies must be corrected. Original estimator still sums all six phases and keeps loading + travel + unloading unbuffered.

Formula
Total hours = (packing + loading + travel + unloading + assembly + cleaning) × (1 + buffer ÷ 100). Moving-day hours = loading + travel + unloading, without the buffer.
Planning boundary
This is an arithmetic upper-bound estimate from your inputs. Some phases may overlap or run in parallel, so it does not promise a schedule, crew availability, completion time or arrival time.
Local calculation
The calculation runs in this browser. Each phase accepts finite nonnegative hours and the buffer accepts any finite nonnegative percentage.

Invented timeline: start 2026-01-01 23:00; phases 1 and 2 in group 1 lasting 2 h and 1 h; phase 3 in group 2 lasting 1 h → phase 3 starts 2026-01-02 01:00 and ends 02:00.
GOOD TO KNOW
Common questions
Original phase estimator — Are parallel tasks deducted?
No. Every entered phase is added. Because some work may happen in parallel, treat the result as an arithmetic upper bound rather than a schedule.
Original phase estimator — What counts as moving-day hours?
Loading, travel and unloading only. Packing, assembly, cleaning and the planning buffer are excluded from that subtotal.
Does this predict actual completion?
No. It follows your durations, groups, dependencies and buffers. Dates advance using a nominal civil calendar without timezone or DST adjustments.
