Discounts in order

Each discount applies to the remaining price. Rates are multiplied, not added.

A QUICK WALKTHROUGH

How to use this tool

  1. Enter the original price.
  2. Add up to 10 discounts in the order they apply.
  3. Calculate the final price and the single equivalent discount.

Sequential discounts multiply

Each discount applies to the price left by the previous discount. The final price is P × ∏(1 − dᵢ ÷ 100), not P reduced by the sum of the rates.

Equivalent discount

For a positive original price, the equivalent discount is 1 − final price ÷ original price. The same rate is obtained directly from 1 − ∏(1 − dᵢ ÷ 100), which also remains defined when the original price is zero.

Input limits

The original price must be zero or greater. Each of at most 10 discount rates must be from 0% to 100%. Blank, non-finite, and overflowing results are rejected.

GOOD TO KNOW

Common questions

Can I add the discount percentages?

No. A later discount applies to the already-discounted price, so the remaining-price factors must be multiplied.

Does the order change the mathematical result?

No for percentage-only discounts, because multiplication is commutative. The ordered list still mirrors how the discounts are presented and applied.

Are my values uploaded?

No. The calculation runs locally in your browser.
