Pagination Tag Generator
Enter the previous and next page URLs to produce a ready-to-paste HTML head snippet. Values are escaped for HTML and never fetched.
Create pagination link tags
A QUICK WALKTHROUGH
How to use this tool
- Enter an absolute HTTP or HTTPS URL for the previous and next page when applicable.
- Generate the snippet and review the escaped href values.
- Copy the HTML into the page head after checking your site’s pagination and canonical policy.
Bounded HTML output
The generator accepts at most one previous and one next URL, validates absolute HTTP(S) URLs, and emits only the corresponding link elements. It does not fetch or verify the pages.
Legacy support caveat
rel="prev" and rel="next" remain valid HTML link relations, but Google Search no longer uses these annotations as a ranking or indexing signal. Keep your canonical URLs and useful crawlable pagination links aligned with your site policy.
GOOD TO KNOW
Common questions
Do I need both tags?
No. The first page normally has no previous link and the last page normally has no next link.
Does this contact my URLs?
No. Values are processed entirely in your browser.
Will Google use these tags for pagination?
Google has said it no longer uses rel="prev" and rel="next" as an indexing signal. Do not treat the snippet as a ranking guarantee.
