A QUICK WALKTHROUGH

How to use this tool

  1. Choose a local image.
  2. Select 2–12 colors and extract the palette.
  3. Copy a swatch HEX value or download the palette.

Local sampling

The image is decoded and sampled in your browser. Pixels with alpha 20 or lower are ignored, and the original file is not uploaded.

Representative colors

Colors are grouped in a fixed 16-level RGB grid, then each selected swatch uses the weighted average of its group. Percentages are approximate because the image is sampled.

GOOD TO KNOW

Common questions

Does this upload my image?

No. Decoding, sampling, grouping, and rendering happen locally in your browser.

Why are percentages approximate?

The tool samples a bounded number of pixels for speed and ignores nearly transparent pixels.

Can I choose the palette size?

Yes. Select between 2 and 12 representative colors.
