PDF Header Footer Adder
Choose a PDF, enter optional header and footer text, then review and download the rewritten PDF in your browser.
A QUICK WALKTHROUGH
How to use this tool
- Choose an unencrypted PDF up to 50 MB and 500 pages.
- Enter optional text; use {page} and {total} for page numbers.
- Add the text, review the local preview, and download the new PDF.
Centered page text
Header and footer text are drawn at consistent centered positions near the top and bottom of every page.
Font and Unicode scope
Text uses the built-in Helvetica PDF font and supports its standard WinAnsi characters. CJK, Devanagari, emoji, and other unsupported Unicode characters are rejected; no font upload is used.
PDF rewrite limits
The result is a newly serialized PDF. Encrypted, password-protected, digitally signed, XFA, damaged, or unsupported PDFs are rejected because rewriting can invalidate signatures or change advanced form behavior.
Private local processing
The PDF is read, rewritten, previewed, and downloaded in this browser. It is never uploaded or fetched from a URL.
GOOD TO KNOW
Common questions
What do {page} and {total} mean?
They become the current page number and total page count, for example Page {page} of {total}.
Can I add both a header and footer?
Yes. Fill either or both fields.
Will Unicode text work?
Only characters supported by the built-in Helvetica WinAnsi font are accepted. CJK, Devanagari, emoji, and other unsupported characters are rejected.
Are signed or fillable PDFs preserved?
No guarantee is made after serialization. Signed, encrypted, XFA, and unsupported files are rejected.
