Remove text punctuation
A QUICK WALKTHROUGH
How to use this tool
- Enter up to 100,000 UTF-16 characters.
- Choose Remove punctuation to process the text in this browser.
- Review the count, then copy or download the cleaned text.
Explicit Unicode punctuation scope
The transform removes characters whose Unicode General_Category is P: connector punctuation (Pc), dash punctuation (Pd), close punctuation (Pe), final punctuation (Pf), initial punctuation (Pi), other punctuation (Po), and open punctuation (Ps). It does not remove symbols, emoji, mathematical operators, currency signs, letters, numbers, whitespace, or line breaks.
Local processing and predictable limits
The input is processed, copied, and downloaded in this browser; it is not uploaded. The input limit is 100,000 UTF-16 code units. The result preserves character order and reports how many Unicode punctuation code points were removed.
GOOD TO KNOW
Common questions
Does this remove every non-letter character?
No. It removes only Unicode punctuation in the P general category. Symbols, emoji, numbers, whitespace, and line breaks remain.
Are ASCII and CJK punctuation both removed?
Yes, when Unicode classifies them as punctuation. The rule covers the full Unicode P category rather than a short ASCII-only list.
Is my text uploaded?
No. The transform, copy action, and TXT download run locally in your browser.
