A QUICK WALKTHROUGH

How to use this tool

  1. Enter 1–100,000 words, a 20–300 WPM rate, and pauses from 0–3,600 seconds.
  2. Adjust the opening, main, and close percentages so they total 100%.
  3. Review total time and the word budget for each segment.

Transparent estimate

Speaking minutes = words ÷ WPM. Total duration adds the planned pause seconds. The segment budget is a planning split, not a prediction of actual delivery.

Input limits

Words are capped at 100,000; speaking rate is 20–300 words per minute; pauses are 0–3,600 seconds; segment percentages must total 100%.

Planning scope

This is a writing and presentation planning aid. It does not assess a speaker, language ability, accessibility, health, or professional performance.

GOOD TO KNOW

Common questions

Are pauses included?

Yes. Enter the total planned pause seconds and they are added to active speaking time.

What do segment percentages mean?

They divide the total words among opening, main section, and close. They do not change the total duration.

Is this an exact rehearsal time?

No. It is a transparent estimate; real delivery varies with phrasing, audience interaction, and unscheduled pauses.
