A QUICK WALKTHROUGH
How to use this tool
- Paste SRT cues with their timestamps and subtitle text.
- Convert and review the output and any timing or positioning warnings.
- Download the converted WebVTT file.
Cue and timestamp conversion
Valid cues are written with WebVTT timestamps and numbered in output order. Invalid timestamps and end times that do not follow start times are reported.
Markup and positioning
Supported subtitle emphasis tags are retained and literal angle brackets are escaped. ASS alignment tags are approximated with WebVTT cue settings; exact positioning commands cannot be represented and are reported as warnings.
Local file creation
Conversion runs in this browser. The downloaded VTT file is created locally from the text you pasted.
GOOD TO KNOW
Common questions
Does conversion preserve every SRT feature?
No. WebVTT cannot represent every SRT or ASS positioning feature. Review the report for approximations and warnings.
What does a timing warning mean?
A cue may have a missing or invalid timing line, an invalid timestamp, or an end time that is not after its start.
Are my subtitles uploaded?
No. Parsing, conversion, and file creation happen in your browser.
