Escape mode removes the slash from common sequences such as
, , \x2F, and / while leaving other slashes alone.

A QUICK WALKTHROUGH

How to use this tool

 1. Paste up to 100,000 characters of text.
 2. Choose all literal backslashes or escape sequences only.
 3. Strip the backslashes, review the result, and copy or download it.

Two explicit handling modes

All literal backslashes removes every backslash character. Escape sequences only removes the slash from common JavaScript-style sequences such as
, , \x2F, and / while leaving unrelated slashes unchanged.

Local text transform

The input stays in this browser. The result is shown for review, can be copied, and can be downloaded as a plain text file.

GOOD TO KNOW

Common questions

Does escape mode decode the sequence?

No. It removes the backslash and keeps the sequence character or digits, so
becomes n and / becomes u002F.

What happens to an unrecognized slash?

Escape mode leaves it unchanged. All mode removes it.

Is my text uploaded?

No. The transformation runs locally in your browser.
