Tank Mixing Calculator

Calculate nominal stock and diluent volumes from final volume and matching concentration units.

In-browser processingNo account requiredPrivacy details ↗

Use the same mass/volume units (mg/L or g/L), or ideal%v/v for both concentrations. Nominal volumes are assumed additive with no reaction. No w/w-to-volume conversion, density correction, compatibility judgment or safe mixing procedure is provided.

A QUICK WALKTHROUGH

How to use this tool

  1. Enter positive final volume in litres.
  2. Choose a common concentration unit and enter stock and target concentrations.
  3. Calculate volumes and dilution factor, then copy or download the report.

Formula and units

Stock L = target concentration × final L ÷ stock concentration. Diluent L = final L − stock L. Dilution factor = stock concentration ÷ target concentration; undefined for zero target.

Scope

Use the same mass/volume units (mg/L or g/L), or ideal%v/v for both concentrations. Nominal volumes are assumed additive with no reaction. No w/w-to-volume conversion, density correction, compatibility judgment or safe mixing procedure is provided.

GOOD TO KNOW

Common questions

Can I enter weight percentages?

No. This volume model accepts matched mass/volume concentrations or ideal volume percentages only. Weight fractions require information outside this tool.
