  2. Keep the first 50 lines.
  3. Review and copy the result.

Exactly the first 50 lines

Lines are counted from 1, including blank lines. Line text is not trimmed. If the input has fewer than 50 lines, every line is kept.

Newlines and bounds

LF, CRLF, and CR are accepted. The first detected separator is used between output lines, and a trailing newline is preserved only when the kept 50-line range includes it. Input is limited to 100,000 characters and 50,000 lines.

Local processing

Text stays in this browser and is never uploaded.

GOOD TO KNOW

Common questions

Are blank lines counted?

Yes. Every line, including blank lines, counts toward the first 50.

What happens to a trailing newline?

It is preserved when the trailing empty line is among the first 50 lines; otherwise it is removed with the discarded lines.

Are line endings preserved?

LF, CRLF, and CR are accepted, and the first detected style is used between retained lines.
