A QUICK WALKTHROUGH
How to use this tool
- Choose a non-empty video file up to 100 MiB and wait for its metadata.
- Enter one timestamp in seconds and choose JPEG or PNG.
- Render the selected frame, review the thumbnail, and download it.
One frame at a time
The tool decodes and renders only the timestamp you request. It does not extract a contact sheet, retain a frame collection, or process a batch.
Limits before canvas drawing
The source is limited to 100 MiB and 10 minutes. Before the canvas is sized, the decoded video must be no larger than 1920 pixels on either side and 3 megapixels. The output is scaled to at most 1024 pixels on its longest side.
Local processing and format
The selected video is decoded in this browser and is not uploaded. The download is a newly encoded JPEG or PNG thumbnail; it does not preserve video metadata or the source frame’s original encoding.
GOOD TO KNOW
Common questions
Can I extract many frames at once?
No. This tool renders one selected timestamp each time you press Render thumbnail.
Why can’t my video be opened?
The file must be no larger than 100 MiB, no longer than 10 minutes, within the stated dimensions and pixel limit, and decodable by your browser.
Does the video leave my device?
No. The source video and frame decoding stay in this browser. Only the downloaded thumbnail is created as an output file.
