One panel per row; no rotation or nesting. Check trimming, bleed, and machine limits separately. Use one length unit for all dimensions.

A QUICK WALKTHROUGH

How to use this tool

  1. Enter roll width and panel width and length in the same units.
  2. Enter panel quantity and the gap between sequential panels.
  3. Review estimated roll length.

Fixed layout assumption

This estimate places one panel across the roll per row, without rotating or nesting pieces. Required length = quantity × panel length + (quantity − 1) × gap. It checks panel width against roll width.

Limits

It does not optimize nesting, account for trimming, defects, printer margins, bleed, grain direction, or machine constraints. Use consistent units and verify the production layout. Inputs stay in the browser.

GOOD TO KNOW

Common questions

Will it rotate panels to save material?

No. It uses the entered panel orientation and one panel per row.

Does it include trimming or bleed?

No. Include those allowances yourself in the dimensions or gap.
