A QUICK WALKTHROUGH

How to use this tool

  1. Press Start preview and respond to the browser camera permission prompt.
  2. Inspect the live preview; choose another listed camera if needed.
  3. Press Stop camera to release access and clear the preview.

Explicit local access

This tool requests video only, never microphone access. It has no photo capture, recording, saving, or upload. Stop, hiding the page, or leaving it releases the camera; a cancelled pending request is released when it resolves.

Browser and permission limits

Camera access needs a secure context such as HTTPS or localhost, a browser with getUserMedia support, browser and system permission, and an available camera. Embedded pages may be blocked by browser policy. Device names and choices may appear only after permission. Switching cameras starts a new request and can fail if a device is disconnected or busy.

GOOD TO KNOW

Common questions

Does it measure camera quality or record a test video?

No. It is a visual preview, not a quality, resolution, or FPS benchmark. It does not record or capture frames.

What happens if I deny access?

No preview starts. You can review camera permissions in browser and system settings, then explicitly try again.
