Zalgo Text Generator

Enter text, choose a mark count, and generate a deliberately distorted Unicode result with clear length and accessibility limits.

Combining marks can make text difficult to read or use with assistive technology. Keep the original and use this output for decoration only.

Input is limited to 2,000 characters; output is capped at 20,000 UTF-16 code units.

A QUICK WALKTHROUGH

How to use this tool

  1. Enter up to 2,000 Unicode code points and choose the combining-mark intensity.
  2. Generate and inspect the result; the output is capped at 20,000 UTF-16 code units.
  3. Copy the result only when the surrounding interface can safely handle combining marks and the text is decorative.

Bounded Unicode output

The generator accepts at most 2,000 Unicode code points and adds no more than 16 combining marks per base code point. The final result is capped at 20,000 UTF-16 code units; generation stops before exceeding that limit. Marks are attached to each base code point with Unicode-safe iteration.

Accessibility caveat

Combining marks can make text difficult or impossible to read, pronounce, select, search, or navigate with assistive technology. Use the result for decorative experiments only, keep the original text available, and never use distorted output for essential instructions, labels, status, errors, or time-sensitive information.

GOOD TO KNOW

Common questions

Can I generate unlimited marks?

No. The control allows 1–16 marks per code point, selected by intensity and the result has a hard 20,000 UTF-16 code-unit cap.

Will every character receive marks?

Only characters that can reasonably carry combining marks are decorated; whitespace, controls, and combining marks already in the input are preserved without extra marks.

Is Zalgo text accessible?

Usually not reliably. Keep an undecorated original and use Zalgo output only as optional decoration, never as the only way to convey meaning.
