- Choose one supported local PDF and select Add a sticky note or Remove this tool’s sticky notes.
- For a new note, enter an unrotated page number, lower-left PDF coordinates, note text, author, and icon color.
- Save, review the re-opened PDF preview, and download the resulting PDF.
A narrow standard annotation contract
This tool creates PDF Text annotations, commonly displayed as sticky-note icons. Each note has a standard annotation rectangle, Contents, author, color, and a unique PDF name. It does not create drawing, highlight, stamp, link, form-widget, file-attachment, sound, or ink annotations.
Safe removal scope
Remove mode deletes only Text annotations whose unique name was created by this tool. Existing annotations from readers and other software remain in their page annotation arrays. The tool does not list, modify, or delete third-party annotations.
Local rewrite and document limits
The browser loads and reserializes the selected PDF with pdf-lib; no PDF bytes are uploaded or fetched from a URL. One application/pdf file up to 50 MB and 200 pages is accepted. Encrypted, signed, XFA, damaged, and rotated-page PDFs are refused, and the output should be reviewed in the PDF reader you plan to use.

Is this a real PDF comment?
Yes. The output contains a standard PDF Text annotation object in the selected page’s Annots array. Compatible PDF readers can display its sticky-note icon and contents.
Can I remove notes made in Adobe Acrobat or another reader?
No. Remove mode is deliberately limited to sticky notes created by this tool, identified by its unique annotation-name prefix.
Can I draw, highlight, or flatten an annotation?
No. This tool does not draw page overlays or support other annotation subtypes. It also does not flatten notes into page content.
Why are coordinates measured from the bottom left?
PDF annotation rectangles use the PDF page coordinate system, whose default origin is the lower-left corner. This focused version accepts only unrotated target pages so the coordinates remain direct.
