English ordinal rules
This tool produces English-style suffixes only: st, nd, rd, or th. Numbers ending in 11, 12, or 13 use th; other numbers use the final digit rule. Other languages may have different ordinal grammar and are not represented by this output.
Standalone whole numbers
Only standalone digit sequences are changed. Existing letter-attached forms such as 1st and decimal-like values such as 1.5 are left unchanged. Input and generated output are limited to 50,000 and 500,000 characters.

GOOD TO KNOW
Common questions
Which language does the suffix rule represent?
English. The output uses the English abbreviations st, nd, rd, and th; it does not claim to generate ordinal grammar for other languages.
Are existing ordinals changed?
No. A number attached to letters, such as 1st, is left unchanged.
Are decimals changed?
No. Digit sequences next to a period are left unchanged so decimal-like values are not split into separate ordinals.
Is my text uploaded?
No. Conversion, copying, and downloading happen locally in your browser.
