Enter finite non-negative real power and a power factor greater than 0 and at most 1.

A QUICK WALKTHROUGH

How to use this tool

  1. Enter real power in kW.
  2. Enter power factor as a decimal from 0 to 1.
  3. Calculate to see apparent power in kVA.

Formula

Apparent power S (kVA) = real power P (kW) ÷ power factor. kW and kVA are different quantities; they are equal only when PF is 1.

Power factor input

Enter a decimal from 0 to 1, such as 0.8 for 80%. Zero cannot be used because division would be undefined.
