Per-unit Amount Calculator

Calculate average revenue or cost per appointment, lab test or another unit from a total amount and count. Also average a total intake count over explicitly labeled periods. Also calculate production throughput, signed profit or revenue per FTE/headcount, and cost per unique lead with matching campaign context. Service recovery cost: Use one currency and period. Enter the monetary cost of credit or rework explicitly. Excluded rows remain in the report. No reputation value, compensation policy or accounting treatment is assumed.

Use the same period and one currency. This is an arithmetic average; it does not calculate profit, allocate cost categories or recommend prices. Name the unit explicitly, such as appointment or lab test.

A QUICK WALKTHROUGH

How to use this tool

  1. Choose revenue, cost or count per period and enter its total. Also calculate production throughput, signed profit or revenue per FTE/headcount, and cost per unique lead with matching campaign context. Total = sum of included explicit costs; labor = hours × hourly cost. Per basis = total / cases or customers.
  2. Enter the matching denominator and unit label; monetary modes require currency, while count mode requires the exact covered period count.
  3. Calculate the average and export the report with its period or currency context.

Service recovery cost

Total = sum of included explicit costs; labor = hours × hourly cost. Per basis = total / cases or customers. Use one currency and period. Enter the monetary cost of credit or rework explicitly. Excluded rows remain in the report. No reputation value, compensation policy or accounting treatment is assumed. Example: refund 100 + labor 2 × 20, with credit 30 excluded; 10 cases gives total 140 and 14 per case.

Formula and units

Average amount per unit = total amount ÷ unit count.

Scope

Use the same period and one currency. This is an arithmetic average; it does not calculate profit, allocate cost categories or recommend prices. Name the unit explicitly, such as appointment or lab test.

Count per period

Average intakes = total intakes / covered period count. The numerator must cover exactly that period count; fractional periods such as 1.5 weeks are allowed. This is a recorded arithmetic average, not an intake forecast or staffing target. Name the period unit and use total intakes covering precisely those periods. No currency is used. Count example: 15 intakes covering exactly 1.5 weeks gives an average of 10 intakes per week, without currency.

Production throughput

Rate = N / h; average interval = 60 × h / N minutes. For N = 0, the interval is undefined. Use finished output and elapsed hours from precisely the same period and one output unit. N/h is an average rate; 60h/N is the average interval between finished units, not total labour hours or an individual cycle time. Include downtime only if it belongs to your elapsed-time basis. Zero output has no finite inverse interval.

Amount per employee

Revenue per employee = R / E; profit per employee = P / E. E is the explicitly selected FTE or whole headcount. Divide revenue or your selected gross, operating or net profit by the matching positive FTE or whole headcount. Losses are allowed. Keep the period, staff coverage, profit basis and currency consistent. This average does not assess individual performance or rank businesses; currency is a label and is not converted.

Cost per unique lead

Cost per unique lead = attributed spend S / unique leads L. Divide nonnegative attributed spend by unique leads in the same campaign and period. Define a lead and included costs consistently, remove duplicates yourself, and use one currency. Zero spend is valid. This average does not infer lead quality, conversion or ROAS.

Common questions

How are recovery components compared?

Total = sum of included explicit costs; labor = hours × hourly cost. Per basis = total / cases or customers. Use one currency and period. Enter the monetary cost of credit or rework explicitly. Excluded rows remain in the report. No reputation value, compensation policy or accounting treatment is assumed. Example: refund 100 + labor 2 × 20, with credit 30 excluded; 10 cases gives total 140 and 14 per case.

Can I use appointment revenue or laboratory test cost?

Yes. Select revenue or cost and enter the corresponding total, count and explicit unit for the same period.

What do the production, employee and lead averages mean?

They describe the supplied period only. Production uses finished output and elapsed hours; FTE may be fractional, headcount must be whole, and profit may be negative. Lead costs require unique leads and consistent campaign scope. No quality or performance benchmark is inferred.
