A QUICK WALKTHROUGH

How to use this tool

  1. Choose one of six referee, buzzer, horn, or alarm sounds.
  2. Set a volume from 0–70% and press a sound button.
  3. Use Stop to cancel scheduled sound, or Clear log to remove the temporary event history.

Six bounded sound types

Short Whistle is a 0.35-second high sine sweep; Long Whistle is a 1-second sustained sweep; Double Whistle is two 0.27-second tweets separated by 0.32 seconds; Buzzer is a stepped low square-wave sports buzzer lasting 1.75 seconds; Air Horn is a 1.4-second sawtooth horn with harmonics; Alarm is five short alternating square-wave pulses.

Local and stoppable

All sounds are synthesized with Web Audio after a user gesture. No microphone, recording, upload, stream, or audio file is used. Stop cancels every scheduled oscillator and closes the AudioContext; sounds also have fixed maximum durations.
