Literal matching and replacement
Opening, closing, and replacement values are exact text. Regex punctuation, backslashes, spaces, and emoji have no special meaning.
Nested and unmatched handling
Pairs are scanned left to right. A nested opening delimiter is treated as content and the next closing delimiter closes the current pair. If a closing delimiter is missing, the unmatched opening and remaining text are kept unchanged.
Local input boundary
Text is processed in the browser and bounded to 1 MiB. No text is uploaded or persisted.

Common questions
Are delimiters regular expressions?
No. They are literal strings matched exactly.
Are the delimiters kept?
Yes. Only the text between each complete pair is replaced.
What happens to unmatched delimiters?
Unmatched text is preserved; replacement occurs only when both delimiters are present.
