A QUICK WALKTHROUGH
How to use this tool
- Enter reference and recorded start/end timecodes as HH:MM:SS:FF.
- Set the exact frame rate used by the timecodes.
- Review offset, drift, and the signed adjustment in milliseconds and frames.
Timecode markers only
This tool reads typed HH:MM:SS:FF markers. It does not open, edit, align, or export audio or video files.
Explicit frame rate
Frame rate is required because frames convert to milliseconds using 1,000 ÷ fps. Enter the rate actually used by the timecodes; this tool does not infer drop-frame behavior.
Sign convention
Recorded minus reference is positive when recorded audio is later. A positive correction note means move recorded audio earlier by that amount; a negative note means move it later.
GOOD TO KNOW
Common questions
Does it process audio files?
No. It calculates notes from typed timecode markers only.
Why must I enter frame rate?
The frame count and millisecond conversion depend on the exact frames per second.
What is drift?
Drift is the end-marker offset minus the start-marker offset.
Does it support drop-frame timecode?
No. Frames are interpreted as ordinary frame counts within HH:MM:SS:FF.
